Smeg range cookers and appliances generally have become a real style icon and hugely popular across the world. For me, the great thing has been that they still manufacture in Northern Italy where they started all those years ago in 1948.
We haven’t seen them shipping the building of these products off to the far east – but actually they have stayed true to their roots and help employ their fellow countrymen in Italy despite their huge success.
Smeg also say that they want to keep the highest standards and meet all EU and Italian regulations, which is encouraging at least.
For me though, it’s just the fact that the cookers and fridges are different and stylish.
So, different in a good way! When I saw the range cooker for the first time, it had the same impact as their fridges had one me. Colours, rounded edges and just somehow, very cool.
