Home decor inspiration can come from a lot of places: Pinterest, Instagram, sites like Apartment Therapy, or from your friends’ and family’s homes. But what about from art pieces? And what about….from dogs?
We stumbled upon the work of an artist who illustrated imaginary homes for dogs in various popular home styles. They considered trends of each breed and built them a custom house accordingly. And not only are they cute, but also we think we might steal some of their decor ideas for my own home?
First of all, this is a home for “mixed breeds,” and combines many eclectic home decor styles of the last few years, such as bright furniture, funky wall art, and house plants. And we absolutely love it! We admire the choice of the craftsman style as well, which is actually one of the most popular home styles in the United States. So cute!
This poodle house is also supremely elegant while also being functional. We appreciated the simple touches that elevated the poodle’s space, such as well-trimmed hedges, simply white curtains, and a bright bed frame. It really goes to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make your bedroom feel like it is fit for a princess.
Finally, this pug home seemed really unique to us. Did you know that pugs are traditionally a Chinese dog breed? The way Asian decor styles were seamlessly woven throughout this home really inspired us. It’s a great example of how you shouldn’t be afraid to dive into home decor from around the world when you’re looking to liven up a space!
It’s a fun thought experiment to combine two things that don’t normally go together, such as home decor trends and dog breeds. In fact, we’d really recommend this exercise when trying to come up with new ideas for your home. It can really get you thinking outside of the box!
