Calgary is the Sunniest & Cleanest City in Canada
Calgary might get some brutal winters, but make up for it by being the brightest and sunniest city in the whole country, with around 2,396 sunny hours a year. Few North American cities can match Calgary’s green, clean initiatives, which might come as a surprise considering that this Alberta metropolis was basically built around the oil industry.
The Population is Very Diverse
The people of Calgary are a diverse lot, with a man identifying as a visible minority. The highest number of mother tongues indicate many foreign-born residents have come from China, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and the Philippines. But the truth is that all immigrants who have come to Calgary, no matter what part of the world they’re from, are an essential part of the city’s vibrancy. There are 23 languages other than English and French that Calgarians speak as their “mother tongue.” A whopping 120 languages are spoken in the city.
