I’m one of the few people who can get behind strange flavored alcohol. About a year ago I purchased some bacon flavored vodka just for the hell of it and it actually tasted great in bloody marys and bacon flavored cocktails with some candied bacon bits on the rim. So when I heard that there was a vodka so spicy that the purveyor actually advises you not to purchase it I knew that I was going to have one hell of a weekend. Masters of Malt recently released a Naga Chilli Vodka that clocks in at 250,000 scovilles making it the hottest vodka in the world. For a bit of perspective a regular jalapeno pepper has a scoville rating of just 3,500. U.S. grade pepper spray has a scoville rating of 2,000,000. So what did I do? I took a shot and then proceeded to roll around on the floor in agony for an hour much to my lady friends enjoyment. So what the verdict? Naga Chilli Vodka is great to have around as a novelty but it is absolutely awful if you want to enjoy a drinking experience.
