If anyone had any belief that the Grammy Awards were a legitimate music awards show prior to last night, they probably tossed it out the window. From cutting off Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails to showing Taylor Swift dancing with her friend in the front row any chance they got, the 56th Grammy Awards had a list of things disproving it’s authority as a night celebrating music.
The most annoying happening of the awards show, however, was Kendrick Lamar losing to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis in literally every category they were both nominated in, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Album.

My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album… I’m honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that’s taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it’s proper respect.. With that being said, thank you to the fans. You’re the reason we were on that stage tonight. And to play Same Love on that platform was a career highlight. The greatest honor of all. That’s what this is about. Progress and art. Thank you. #grammys
