So having an app that you can rely on and help keep you on track to reach your goals is very beneficial. There are a handful of apps out there, but these happen to be the best ones to get the best results. Plus they are all free! Well, sort of.

LoseIt

LoseIt is a great app that creates a weight loss plan customized just for you. It is like having a personal trainer and nutritionist in your phone. You just have to put in your weight, what your goals are and it will come up with a plan that will work for you. It tracks calories and also comes with a barcode scanner so that you can find out more about the nutritional values of what you are eating, not just calories. The app is very handy and simple and is available for iOS, Android, Nook and Kindle.

Human

This app is a more casual approach to reaching your weight loss goals. Human encourages you to do some sort of physical activity for 30 minutes. This is a good way to start a routine and get back in shape. You can do any sort of physical activity like running, dancing or speed walking, just as long as it is for 30 consecutive minutes. The app will keep track of your movements to make sure you reach your goal. The only bad thing is, it is only available for iOS.

Pact

This app used to be called GymPact but is now just known as Pact and it is still a very effective app. You can set a goal for the number of days you plan on working out for that week, along with money to bet. You do have to pay for each day you miss, but you get paid every time you complete a workout goal. This can be a little tricky, but if money is the way to motivate you, this app will be good. They even now have a nutritional option to help you commit to eating healthy. It is available for iOS and Android.

Healthy Out

Healthy Out is the perfect app if you still want to enjoy eating out. It will give you the nutritional values of items on the menu and it will list the healthy options. Just find your restaurant on the app and include any restrictions or nutritional goals you have like gluten free, fat free or if you are trying to follow a certain diet like Atkins or Paleo. The app will suggest what to eat and give you all the nutritional value information you need. Healthy Out is available for iOs and Android.
